Developing a Passive Community

Blockhouse | Life has partnered with Avista Utilities to power our site using solar energy. This innovative pilot program will derive clean energy from solar panels atop Perry Street Brewing, which is located next-door to the development. This layout will preserve the tree canopy on site, providing shade to keep our Blockhouses cool. Producing more energy than we consume is our goal as a passive development and this program will help us do so. Avista Utilities has created a customized solar power solution that preserves our adaptable, scalable housing model. Local partner PCI Renewables has installed Washington-made solar panels from Silfab Solar to ensure efficient energy collection for the Blockhouse | Life development. This off-site solar arrangement has expanded the opportunity for Blockhouse | Life installments nationwide.
